Dog training

Every pig hunter wants a dog that can go out and stop any pig out there. But the fact is that does not always happen.
There are many reasons why this may not happen but one of the main reasons is that our dogs have not been in this situation enough times to understand what they need to do to catch that big boar that we are after.
A lot of the time our dogs tend to focus on that smaller/ easier pig that the dog knows it can beat up so the hunter misses that big boar again.
Every hunter would love to be able to get that big boar every time but as we know it doesn’t always happen like that.
For myself I want to give my dogs the best chance they can get to catch that big boar when they are in the same area as him. So to do this I need to allow my dogs the opportunity to learn how to behave in that environment when confronted with a big boar.
This scenario is not easily created without the right environment. 

For all of those people that have been following me over the years will know that I use muzzles I my harder dogs to stop them from biting pigs as this just makes a good boar very angry and when a big boar becomes angry the vet bills are quick to follow. 
Because my hard dogs wear muzzles on every hunt they have learnt that the boss doesn’t like hearing a pig squealing in pain.
So now I have got my dogs to think before using too much aggression. Today I had my four pig dogs and my possum dog Tig in the training block without Muzzles bailing Pumba while the young Grey boar, Cody is not in any danger of being attacked. This whole scenario is being watched over by Bunt the ram.
I have enough control over the dogs to ensure that no  animals should get harmed and I can call any one of the dogs out of the bail or stop the bail completely by interacting in what is happening.
