My white sow was looking quite big so I was hoping that she would do well with another litter. In her last litter she had seven piglets of which six have survived and are getting close to being able to use with the dogs for training. With this new litter the stupid sow went down beside the electric fence to make her nest and during the night when she had the piglets they feel out down the bank onto the track. In the morning I found four could dead piglets and one white sow alive with her mother.
Obviously this wee piglet is going to do well with all of that milk that her mother can produce. I went down to feed her the other day and the cheeky bitch tried to bite me. She was just getting impatient for her food. I have had one dog so far that has tried to get the wee one but luckily the dog was wearing a muzzle at the time.
