Thanks to those hunters who have been coming in lately to train their dogs on my boars. One dog recently was 14 months old and not wanting to go with the other dogs on pigs. One weekend this hunter and his mate caught 16 pigs yet this one dog would not join In. His mate told him to shoot the dog and get another one but the dogs owner had breed this dog and really wanted to give the dog every chance to make it. Two months previously this dog had been charged by a boar and lost his confidence that’s why he would not join the other dogs on pigs. This dog watched my dogs bail for quite some time before wanting to join in.
It gives me a great feeling knowing that I am giving some of these dogs a second chance.
To get the best out of our dogs we need to be giving them the opportunity to perform.
