Since the last update a lot has changed, Wrights tanks have been up putting in a drainage field 200 meters below the house around the fruit trees. This has been a very big job with four soak drains going in that are 28 meters long each. They have 600mm of sand under them with 600mm wide, on top of this are 200mm of gravel surrounding the pipes.

On top of this is a large cloth then the top soil. This system is called a siphon system that when the septic tank fills up to a certain level it dumps an amount of liquid. Because there is such a large drop from the tank to the drainage field there is no need for any pumps so there is no power required.

Back up in the house we have had the fire signed off by the council so we can now use this. The Gib stoppers have been and gone, making the house look different again. Janice took two weeks off work to get stuck into painting the inside once the Gibbies had finished.

Kitchens Direct came up on the 14th and the 16th to put in the kitchen. Janice had chosen the design and colors for our kitchen so I only got to see it for the first time when it was being installed. We were both rapt to see how well it has blended in.

Gary the builder has finished putting the decks together along with steps. At the back door he has put has put tinted corrugated plastic around the porch which gives us an area to leave our jackets and boots without them getting wet. He has also installed the shower and put the doors up through the house.
