128 pound barrow

Fog with his trophy
Fog with his trophy

Quick hunt this morning Fog and Lightning put in a good find on this pig. He broke past me from the first bail and I was hoping that the dogs would pull him up in the open pines but no he made it right through them to the native on the other side. Closing in on this bail Lightning was sitting out in the pines looking very sad for himself as he had his back leg biting. The boar broke once more before I got right in on him.

I was a couple of meters away when he charged up at Thunder and presented me with a quick shot. As soon as the shot went off the pig broke forty meters and by the time I caught up with him he was stone cold dead as the bullet had gone through his liver so he was never going to go to far. Before gutting him I dragged him down the creek 100 meters to a game trail where I could carry him the couple of hundred meters down to the track.
